The Project
Whoever said working with animals was tough obviously never met Agent Beast. When we needed a cast of canine criminals, we turned to Dallas's premiere animal agency. We've never had so much fun casting our stars - and we were so impressed with their good looks and talent that we created three versions of the spot to showcase them all. For the shoot, we turned the studio into a pup-friendly haven with endless tummy rubs for our actors. The trick was to get these happy critters to look guilty. Trainers armed with squeaky toys, tennis balls, and funny voices elicited some great expressions, but it was Sandy's as yet undiscovered talent at high pitched dolphin sounds that really did the trick.
When we handed the footage over to Danny, he put an unexpected spin on the overall look - on the long bus ride home to Denton, he ingested freezes of each pup into his iPhone, where he treated them with an app called PictureShow to achieve the grungy, prison feel. Jude created our crime stamps and snazzy new logo. And a local soccer player-turned-running-model worked with us at White Rock Lake one Saturday morning to get the final shot of the happy running golden retriever to round out the spot.
